Moos Dekens (b. 1999, Netherlands) is an investigative and process-based artist whose work explores the delicate balance between the familiar and the unknown. An inexhaustible source of inspiration is her childhood, during which she was constantly afraid—even inventing reasons to fear when none existed. Yet, she continually confronted these fears to challenge them. This approach remains an important driving force behind her working process: without fear, there is nothing to learn. The comfort zone is a dead space for growth.

She strives to deconstruct the comfortable, and challenge our conventional perception. Her work is a result of this deconstruction, giving each part that emerges from this process a place in the world by transforming it into a visual language that allows deeper understanding. Her practice is rooted in physical exploration, where hands-on actions are essential to elaborate questions. However, resolution is never the endpoint; each answer generates new questions and pathways. Where a single answer signals an end, multiple questions sustain curiosity, growth, and discovery.
